Computer Requirements
  1. What kind of computer system and skills do I need?
    You will need a computer connected to the Internet with at least 256 MB RAM and a "browser software" such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or newer and an email account. The screen resolution should be set at no less than 1024 x 768 for the best user experience.

Registration, Login and Password
  1. What is a registration code?
    You will be given a personal identification number (PIN) by our customer service. This PIN will enable you to register for the PPOS.

Patient List
  1. How do I add a new patient?
    To add a new patient click the "Add New Patient" button and complete all the data fields in the Demographic Data panel (MRN, Last Name, First Name, Gender and Date of Birth) and click the "Save" button.

  2. How do I find an existing patient?
    There are three ways to find an existing patient: 1. Enter the last name of the patient in the text box left of the "Find Patient" button and click the button. 2. Directly select the patient from the pull down combo box located in the Patient List panel. 3. Click the "Advanced Search" button to navigate to the Practice Overview. This grid enables you to search by ID, Name or Date of Birth. You can also sort patients by clicking on the ID, Name, DOB and M/F headings.

Demographic Data
  1. How do I add a new patient?
    To add a new patient click the "Add New Patient" button and complete all the data fields in the Demographic Data panel (MRN, Last Name, First Name, Gender and Date of Birth) and click the "Save" button.

  2. How do I edit Demographic Data?
    To edit demographic data first locate the patient record of interest. Once you have selected the desired patient the previous demographic information will be visible in the Demographic Data panel. Simply edit the information that you wish to modify and click the "Save" button.

  3. How do I delete a patient?
    Once entered into the application a patient cannot be deleted.

Chart Navigator
  1. How do I add an examination?
    After adding a new patient you may begin entering data into the Preoperative Visit panel and click the "Save" button when finished. You can only enter data in the subsequent visit if the preceding visit data is complete. (eg: To enter operative visit data the preoperative visit information must be complete for that eye. To add postoperative information the operative visit information must be complete.)

  2. How do I edit an examination?
    To edit an examination navigate to the patient record of interest and then use the Chart Navigator to select the desired visit. Replace the incorrect data with the correct data and click the "Save" button.

  3. How do I navigate between Preoperative, Operative and Postoperative visits?
    To navigate between different patient examination stages select the patient record of interest and then click on the desired patient visit (Preoperative, Operative or Postoperative) using the Chart Navigator panel.

    To navigate between eyes use the OD and OS tabs located on the top right of the Preoperative, Operative and Postoperative Visit panels.

    To save a preoperative examination enter all the required fields (highlighted in yellow) within the Preoperative Visit panel and click "Save".

  4. How do I perform a power calculation?
    To perform a power calculation enter all the required data fields (highlighted in yellow) and the desired post operative target and press the "Calculate" button located on the lower right of the Preoperative Visit panel. A power calculation report will be generated on the left side of the page.
